The Best and Worst of the SAG Awards

Diane Kruger is quickly becoming one of my favorite fashionista's - is she not INCREDIBLE. Love, Love, Love, Love, Love!!!!!

Everything from the hair, the makeup, the jewelry and especially that dress!!!! She has been killing the red carpet with risky, high fashion ensembles the past year and now I find myself anxiously scowering the latest awards show's anticipating her next fashion phenomenon!!! This off the shoulder, floor length, mustard colored gown by New York designer Jason Wu is definitely my favorite of the night!!!

SIDE NOTE: Is Joshua Jackson not the cutest man ever!!! Look how he stands off to the side so he can make sure that she is getting her big moment, yet still letting her know that he is there to support her!!!! So cute. Too bad Diane didn't win, but at least she has Josh to ease some of her pain!!!! It was rumored on 2 websites today that they are engaged - I think it's premature, but I have been wrong many times before!!! Keep you posted!!!

ONE OF MY FAVORITE INTERVIEWS

A GREAT INTERVIEW

About 2 months ago my girlfriend Leah allowed me to drag her skinny ass to Vancouver to go to a panel discussion about the movie industry in B.C.. I think she thought my very early mid-life crisis was getting the better of me and I had decided to go out and fulfill my child hood fantasy of becoming a star!!! I'm not going to lie, their was a small part of me fantasizing about my tremendously famous stardom, luckily for me, my very dear, blunt friend was nice enough to point out that Woman's careers in Hollywood die after the age of 30!!!!!! TRANSLATION - you missed the train you were never on - get over it!!!!!

Anyway, despite my small mental set back we went to the discussion and I found it extremely interesting. It gave insight into how you go from script to screen, the casting and auditioning process as well as creative ways to get yourself or your work recognized. It seemed to come down to 3 things - politics, money and originality. As I said earlier, it was very interesting and I would totally recommend going next year if you find the entertainment world as fascinating as I do!!!!

Although I had a great time, I found it lacked information on the process the actors themselves go through. Luckily for me I have another source that I have been attuned too for years. His name is James Lipton and he is the host of "The Actors Studio" which is a long running program known for it's thorough interviews of well known Actors. His intense research regime always recovers never seen before footage and stories. I love hearing about an actors (usually) humble beginnings and their first big break - it's always so interesting.

One my favorite guests has always been Alec Baldwin if you could believe it!!! He is so funny and he loves to teach the students watching in the crowd about becoming a great actor. He makes a remark on the last clip I include about the evolution actors have gone through over the last 100 years. It is really interesting because he touches on the fact that now - good acting is considered being beautiful!!! It's totally true and so unfortunate that good acting is a dying race!!! I hope the Carey Mulligan's of this generation are able to resurrect the true actor!!!

Side note: my favorite part of any James Lipton interview is the 10 questions he asks each guest at the end of each show. I always picture my big moment, sitting across from MR.Lipton and answering my 10 questions!!! I thought I would share them with you just in case my appointment never arrives!!!!

MUSIC MUST


In the past year I discovered the wonderful world of Amazon.com which has allowed me to rekindle my love for music. Right now I am completely obsessed with this CD!!! If you are familiar with "City and Colour" than you already know that I'm like four years behind!!! Bare in mind I just found my way back to music - so you have to cut me some slack!!!

I could listen to Dallas Green every waking moment, he is so fabulous!!!! Some of you might know him better as one of the lead singers of "AlexisonFire". Their stuff is a little too hard for me, but they have blown up in Canada over the past couple of years.

The sounds of "City and Colour" is referred to as acoustic folk, which means very little to me except for the obvious fact that I appear to like this kind of music!!!! Dallas Green is able to make you feel as though it is just him, a guitar and the passing sounds of the outside world. It makes me want to put the kids to bed by 6p.m., open up a nice bottle of red wine, cozy up on the couch with a great magazine and escape for a while!!!! If you have not been introduced to the wonderful Dallas Green you must check out either of the "City and Colour" Cd's = "Bring me your love" or "Sometimes" - both equally amazing. WOW
This will come of little shock to those that know me, but I am a horribly picky Bitch (in the best sense!!!)as a result I tend to be very frivolous with handing out "beauty titles". Few people truly WOW me, this does not mean I don't find people in general attractive, it just means that there have only been a few that truly deserve the word. Pre-requisites are as follows - you must be a natural beauty, you must be the perfect thinness - right in between too many ribs showing and not enough ribs, you must kill it in the style department - this means hair, makeup, accessories, shoes and obviously clothing and lastly you must ooze class from every undersized pour in your body!!!!

Ginnifer Goodwin Wow's me!!!!

She shows up last Sunday at the People Choice awards rocking a Christian Lacroux dress and a pixie cut!!! This takes balls - why??? because she is saying that her beauty can stand up on it's own and she is right!!!! She is seriously killing the whole look - have you seen the dress, I want the dress!!!!

In my picky Bitch world a "WoW" moment is about as rare as a "Fashion moment". My last "Fashion Moment" was when Keira Knightly walked into frame in the movie "Atonement" wearing that stunning green emerald dress - you know the moment!!!! It is a momentary mental snapshot that takes place only on the rare occasion perfect fashion symmetry is accomplished. Unfortunately, it is extremely difficult as their are almost always flaws - too red of lipstick, too much jewelry, not enough color, way too much skin. Thankfully their appears to be an exception - when the fashion world is in perfect harmony . . .

Side Note: One of my favorite shows - "BIG LOVE" started on Sunday (which stars Ginnifer Goodwin) - such a great season premiere - if you are not already a fan, you must check it out!!! Along with "Entourage", "Hung", "In treatment", "True Blood" -Basically anything HBO - I can't get enough!!!! They are all ridiculously inappropriate and I dig it!!!!!

SPOTLIGHT

I know some of you are wondering why on my second "Spotlight" post I have chosen Viggo Mortensen???

Simple answer - he is incredibly talented and ridiculously sexy!!!

If you don't agree with me than you have not seen "Lord of the Rings" or "Eastern Promises"!!!!

Viggo, like my last spotlighter (Eric Bana) have mastered the art of being present in Hollywood without allowing their personal lives to be splattered on the front covers of every major tabloid magazine. This is a quality you find less and less in Hollywood and don't let anyone fool you - they do have a choice!!! Brad and Anjelina are not victims, they thrive on the attention!!!

Viggo has mastered his craft and despite World attention with "Lord of the Rings", was able to reclaim his privacy on his own terms.

Born in New York on October 20th, 1958, to a Danish father and an American mother, Mortensen spent the early part of his childhood in Manhattan. His family traveled a great deal and he spent several years living in Venezuela, Argentina and Denmark. He began acting in New York, studying with Warren Robertson. He appeared in several plays and movies, and eventually moved to Los Angeles, where his performance in "Bent" at the Coast Playhouse earned him a Drama-logue Critic's Award. Mortensen is also an accomplished poet, photographer and painter.

Viggo is the eldest son of Grace and Viggo P. Mortensen. His father, who farmed in Denmark, met his mother, a New Yorker, in Norway. They wed and moved to New York where Viggo Jr. was born, before moving to South America where Viggo Sr. managed chicken farms and ranches in Venezuela and Argentina. Two more sons were born, Charles and Walter, before the marriage grew increasingly unhappy. When Viggo was seven, his parents sent him to a a strict boarding school, isolated in the foothills of the mountains of Argentina. Then, at age eleven, his parents divorced. His mother moved herself and the children back to her home state of New York. Viggo attended Watertown High School and became a very good student and athlete. He graduated in 1976 and went on to St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. After graduation, he moved to Denmark - driven by the need for a defining purpose in life. He began writing poetry and short stories while working many odd jobs, from dock worker to flower seller. But, in 1982, he fell in love and followed his girlfriend back to New York City, hoping for a long romance and a writing career. He got neither.

In New York, Viggo found work waiting tables and bar tending and began taking acting classes. Three years later, he made his film debut with a small part in Witness (1985).

Moving to Los Angeles in 1987, he appeared in Salvation!: Have You Said Your Prayers Today? (1987) and married his co-star, Exene Cervenka. The two had a son, Henry Mortensen. But after nearly eleven years of marriage, the couple divorced.

In 1999, Viggo got a phone call about a movie he didn't know anything about: The Lord of the Rings. At first, he didn't want to do it, because it would mean time away from his son. But Henry, a big fan of the books, told his father he shouldn't turn down the role. Viggo accepted the part and immediately began work on the project, which was already underway. Eventually, the success of Lord of the Rings made him a household name - a difficult consequence for the ever private and introspective Viggo.

INTERESTING DETAILS
-He was married to Exene Cervenka from the 8th of July 1987 - 13 March 1998. She was the lead singer of the punk band "X".

-Had a book of poetry printed before he was known. The title: "Ten Last Night."

-Speaks fluent English, Spanish, Danish, and French, but he also speaks Swedish and Norwegian reasonably well.

-He actually painted the large murals in his artist's studio in the film A Perfect Murder (1998).

-Lived in South America from age 2 to age 11.

-Is also a jazz musician - he has released three CDs so far.

-Worked as a truck driver while living in Denmark

-Broke a tooth while filming a fight sequence for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002); he asked the crew if they would glue it back on so he could finish the scene.

-Replaced Stuart Townsend in the role of Aragorn/Strider in The Lord of the Rings, after filming began.

-Got so into his character of Aragorn that director Peter Jackson once addressed him as Aragorn for over half an hour, and Mortensen didn't even realize it.

-Was named one of the 50 Most Beautiful People by People Magazine in 2002.

-Has two younger brothers, Walter and Charles. They are both geologists.

-Graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York in 1980 with a degree in Government and Spanish.

-An accomplished horseman in his spare time, Mortensen requested that his "Rings" character Aragorn be given more saddle time than was originally scripted. He also kept his on-screen horse nearby during the entire principal photography schedule in order to ride in his off-hours and strengthen his relationship with the horse.

-As Viggo lived in Argentina as a child, he is a fan of Argentine soccer team San Lorenzo (real name of the team: "San Lorenzo of Almagro", from Buenos Aires City).Viggo usually wear clothes and accessories with this team's colors (red & blue) the last time in public, at the Rome Festival, in the "Alatriste" Premiere.

-Broke two toes during the filming of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002), in the scene where he kicks an Orc helmet.

-Owner of publishing company Perceval Press.

-Purchased the horses he rode in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and Hidalgo (2004) after the films were completed.

-Worked as a translator for the Swedish hockey team during the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid and was at the 'miracle' game between the Soviet Union and United States.

-While filming "The Lord of The Rings" trilogy in New Zealand, he would go surfing with the other actors in their spare time. One day he suffered an accident which left a bruise on the right side of his face. As a result, director Peter Jackson had to shoot only the left side of his face in the entire Moria sequence.

-Was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) in June 2004.

-While working on the Lord of the Rings trilogy, he asked writer/director Peter Jackson to revise scripts so that his character Aragorn would be speaking in the Elvish language in several scenes of all three movies.

He became good friends with the close-knit stunt men on the "Lord of the Rings" films, but they were wary of doing fight scenes with him because, carried away with the intensity of his character Aragorn, he would frequently "really go at them" and leave the other combatants in bruises. Massive actor Lawrence Makoare, playing Lurtz under heaps of make-up which restricted his vision, also got carried away during their fight scene at the conclusion of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) and, for once, Mortensen was left more bruised than the other actor.

He received the scar on his upper lip after scratching his face on a barbed wire fence at a Halloween party.

Is a big fan of the New York Mets and the Montreal Canadiens. When filming A History of Violence (2005), he showed up on the Toronto set wearing a Canadiens' jersey.

-A skilled horseman, he did all his own stunts in Hidalgo (2004), including a breakneck bareback ride that even the stuntman couldn't handle.

-His grandfather was from Canada.

-Wore a Montreal Canadiens jersey under his costume during the filming of The Lord of the Rings films.

-On December 4th, 2009, for the Montréal Canadiens centennial celebration at the Bell Center, Viggo Mortensen - a long-time Canadiens fan - came out in his red Habs jersey to introduce Guy Lafleur, "my all-time hero," in French.

I'd like to, when it's all said and done, say that I have at least a few stories that I feel proud of. I don't just want to look back and say, 'I was on x number of magazines.' As far as money goes, there's a saying in Denmark: 'Your last suit doesn't have any pockets.' You can't take it with you. You can make all the money you want, but who cares?

(On his research for Eastern Promises (2007)) I found some materials, some books and also a documentary a friend of mine made called "The Mark of Cain". It's a hard thing to do but she went into maximum-security prisons in Russia and spoke to people like Nikolai. And I went to Russia as well. I read and listened to and looked up anything I could that had to do with Russians even loosely connected with this story. The more Russian I could be and seem authentically, the better it would be.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

I hope your holiday season was full of wonderful memories and exorbant amounts of booze, because nothing says Merry Christmas like a whole lot of vodka!!!! At least that's what my Grandma always says!!!!!

So it is time for New Year's resolutions, I wasn't going to do one this year as like everyone else, it's just sets me up to fail, but I didn't want to break from tradition so I decided to give it another Backstreet boy try!!! My resolution is horribly generic, but like most of you, my goal is to have the strength to eat less than a bird and work out more than Madonna until I look thinner and better than my sister!!!!! I think this could be my year!!!!

It's been just under a month since I started my wildly entertaining blog!!!! It's been so much fun and I really appreciate all of my very loyal readers!!! Until last week I was pretty sure that my readers consisted of 5 or 6 good friends, my sister and husband (whom are forced) and some guy named Charlie who keeps emailing me asking me if I have a nice rack!!!! So obviously it was a big shock when I found out that I had 400 hits in a week and half of them are out of Country!!!! I'm just one step away from Hollywood!!! Perez Hilton here I come!!!!!

Can you believe that they are rumored to be hooking up again - this must be round four!!!! The poor guy almost died last time, you'd think she would leave him alone!!! Gives a whole new meaning to kicking a guy when he is down!!!! She has turned him into her old stinky sweater!!!! . . . . the one you only wear when you can't find any of your other better sweaters to put on!!! You keep it around so you are not without, but it only gets worn as a last resort!!!! Owen is Kate's dirty, old, stinky sweater!!!! She has chewed him up, spat him out, stepped on him and drove him over with her car, yet he keeps waiting around for more!!!! First I thought he deserved to wallow in agony for being stupid enough to wait around for her, than I started to feel sorry for him because his loyal puppy dog love is pathetically charming, than I realized he's probably loving every minute of it - he gets to alley oop Kate Hudson!!!!! As if he cares if he's seconds, thirds, or left overs, as long as he gets to be one of her meals!!!!! They actually seem perfect for each other, I hope these two crazy kids make it!!!!!! At the very least it would provide some very juicy gossip!!!!

Can you believe this bitch is 40!!!!!! I would trade my husbands right nut for these abs!!! She is so incredible - a true fashion icon. She makes turning 40 (which is thankfully a long way away) bearable!!! Here she is with her husband and son, Kingston in St. Barts. They have been there for about a week celebrating New Year's with friends and spending time boating and relaxing on the beach.

When new pics of Rob popped up this week, showing him chillin out in London and taking a pic with this young fan, I thought the picture Gods must have heard my prayers!!!!!!!! Since the "New Moon" promotional tour he has been hiding out in the comforts of various hotel rooms, and other than the few occasions he has attempted to go out publicly, there has been few sittings or info on him for the past month and a half!!! So last week some very hopeful pics came out of him hanging with his family during the holidays sans Kristin Stewart. This made me very happy because it could only mean 1 of 2 things. . . . #1 - that they are no longer together (best case scenario), or #2 that they are together, but not serious (which isn't great, but I will take it!!!!). Unfortunately these intelligent conclusions were ripped apart as quickly as they were created because an hour later I found pics of Kristin Stewart beside the same little girl in London!!!!! Which now forces me to conclude that the little Bitch is with him!!!! Very clever of them to take pictures separately, but I am on to them!!!!


They have continued to deny their relationship, but I am completely doubtless that they are together. Since the filming of "New Moon" in Vancouver these two have been inseparable. They can choose to hang with whomever they would like, but they continually choose to spend time with one another!!! When you were 20 did you spend every waking moment with someone from the opposite sex that was not your boyfriend . . . . No I don't think so!!!!

As if these little factoids were not enough . . . . .On Nov 10th the two were seen hand locking through Le Bourget airport, presumably under the dilution that they were completely void of all paparazzi!!!!! I would be devastated, but Rob and I are not intended to have our "meet cute" for another 4 years so why should I deny him his fun for now!!!!! I know what you are thinking. . . . she is delusional - not so, simply a positive thinker!!!!!

On Sunday, Jan 3rd at 12:13am, Camila gave birth to a healthy 7lb.7oz baby girl named “Vida Alves McCanaughey” ……’Vida’ is Portugese for ‘life’ and that’s what God gave us this morning……Camila’s recovering wonderfully and we are both truly honored to welcome this little lady into our family….thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers along the way, another blessed day, we give thanks, just keep livin, Matthew and Camila

Vida joins her 18th month old brother Levi.....these kids are going to have one hell of a life!!!!

It seems like forever since we have seen Matthew, his last movie was "The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" which will probably never be on my 'must see list'!!! According to IMBD he has one movie - "Southbound" in pre-production and it was just announced that he will be a part of "Hammer Down" set to shoot in early 2011. It might be a while till we see him on the big screen!!! Luckily he fills the void by providing endless shirtless opportunities for photographers which then provides us addicts with good reading material!!!!!!!!

I am so excited about this new portion of my blog!! I was intending on starting this segment once I had a substantial following, but I was lucky to receive two reports this week from friends!!! My one and Only Sighting
So I thought I would start with my one and only star sighting - this is a pathetically sad story, but it's the only one I have so here it is. About 10 years ago (see already pathetic!!!) I went to Vancouver to audition to be an extra with my friends. As we were coming out, the streets were bare because it was ridiculously early in the morning and so it was easy to notice this well dressed guy with a backpack about 30 feet away coming towards us. If I was a normal person I would have looked away at this point, but he was hot and well dressed so I took in the view!!! All of sudden he got a little closer and I looked over at my girlfriend Kim and quietly said "that totally looks like the guy from 'Felicity'", she then says "I think that is the guy from "Felicity" - what's his name again"?? So because neither of us could remember his name we asked the guys we were with if they knew his real name, for some reason instead of answering us with a simple no, they began yelling out "Felicity" over and over again. We were almost in "oops I didn't mean to fall on you distance"!!! When he caught what are moronic boyfriends (now husbands - lucky us!!) were yelling!!! He then pretended to look in the store beside him and quickly did a 190 and walked the other way . . . I told you it was pathetically sad!!! It's okay I will make up for it when I become rich and famous!!!!





Bachlerotte Sighting
Most of my friends are huge fans of the show, I am not a huge reality t.v. fan so I have never jumped on board, but I did know about the most recent Bachelorette - Vancouverite, Jillian Harris because everytime I read a gossip magazine, she seemed plagued with rumors of behind the scenes contreversy!!!

In the end it looks like she chose Ed Swiderski, the Chicago computer consultant who had left the show week 5 because of work demands, but later came back to win her heart!!!!! Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese!!! Anyway it's a little known fact that the only surviving relationship in Bachelor/Bachelorette history is Trista and Ryan, so it's a bit of a surprise to hear from my friend Sara that she recently saw Jillian and Ed together - indicating that we might have one more surviving couple from Bachelor/Bachelorette Island!!!

Here is Sarah's details:

"I was skiing up at Big White today (Dec 27th) and saw Bachelorette Jillian and Ed skiing together. Ed does not seem as tall in real life and seemed like his usual uncomfortable/self conscious self. But looking great in a green North Face jacket and sunglasses. (I actually only noticed them because I liked his jacket lol)
Jillian is super short like they say lookin cute in her ski outfit!!)".

There was Will, but no Grace!!!!

My friend Chelsea was in Chintz and Company in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago and saw Eric McCormick picking out some furniture. I asked specific details and all she could give me was that he was with his son and appeared to be redecorating a few rooms in his home as he ordered a substantial amount of items. She said he was approximately 5'8" or 5'9" which is about 2 inches shorter than his IMBD profile - they always lie - Hollywood is full of shorties!!!! She also added that he was well dressed, good-looking and slender.

Eric doesn't appear to have anything currently in the works, but you can see him in "The New Adventures of old Christine" - he has a 3 episode guest spot. The show airs on Wednesday's 8/7c on CBS.

TRAILER TIME




Honestly, this movie could be about Sarah Jessica Parker cleaning toilets and I would watch it!!!! Why??? because she would be in Chanel and Valentino while doing it!!!! I love love love fashion!!! Nothing would make me happier in life than to be 116pds, wearing clothes that would cost more than my current net worth!!!!! Bring on the Marc Jacobs, Armani, Dior, Versace, . . . . I could go all night!!!! This movie nourishes my fashion hunger and so I will go, even if it gets the worst reviews in history!!!! On a side note though . . . . I wish they would keep the filming in New York - that is part of the appeal and a staple in the original "Sex and The City" - I guess it's going to be a lot more sex and a lot less City!!!!!!




How do you make a shit load of money??
This is how:
-You open a movie called "Valentine's Day" two days before Valentine's Day
-You chalk it full of famous, good looking people
-you make sure it caters to all age demographics by putting in a little Taylor Launtner and adding some Julia Roberts
-Lastly you make it all about finding new love, cherishing old love, and expanding on current love - it's like moth to a flame - the women will be pouring into the theater's, dragging their dutiful men along with them!!!!

Warner Brother's is going to be swimming in the Green Stuff come February 12, 2010!!!!

- Side Note: Their seems to be a little "Valentine's Day" controversy!!! It appears the Studio is getting in a little shit for the trailer as they did not only exclude the gay relationship between Bradley Cooper and Eric Dane, but manipulated it to look like Bradley Cooper and Julia Roberts have a possible budding relationship in the film. I am pretty sure we will all be seeing a new relationship dynamic come to light in the next trailer released by Warner's!!!!




This could finally be George Clooney's ticket to an Oscar!!! He has been receiving incredible reviews and was recently rewarded with a Golden Globe nomination. It came in 6th at the box office over the Christmas weekend, grossing 24 million worldwide on it's opening 3 days, which might seem low in comparison to Avatar or Sherlock Holmes, but still respectful considering it only cost 30 million to make.

His costar - Anna Kendrick (known for her role as Jessica, Bella's best friend in the Twilight movies) is also receiving praise for her work in "Up In The Air" and has been acknowledged by the foreign press association with a Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actress in a motion picture. I have not had a chance to see the movie yet, but I can tell you that Anna's performance in "New Moon" was one of the only shinning moments in the movie!!!

Anyway, back to "Up In The Air". The premise of the movie is both sad and depressing - your typical Oscar Nominee!!!! Thankfully it appears to be executed with well timed humor thus making it interesting and entertaining and allowing us to grasp the depth of the story without walking away wanting to jump of a bridge!!!! I am really pulling for this movie come Oscar time as it was written and directed by Jason Reitman a fellow Canadian and previous Oscar nominee for Juno (fabulous movie). The Oscars air March 7th, 2010, only 63 days to go!!!!!




This movie totally reminds me of those repetitive daydreams I would have in my late teens, early twenties about traveling to Europe on an expedition of self discovery with the expectation of "really" experiencing life!!!! - or at least my preconceived notion of it!!! You know the one!!!!! . . . I won't bore you with the details, but let's just say it ends with me, a very full passport, a disgustingly handsome Irish guy and a uncanny ability to identify anything booze related!!!!

So anyway about the movie . . . it stars Matthew Goode, Adam Scott, John Lithgow and the incredible Amy Adams. It's totally your typical lovy, dovy movie, which if executed correctly can be a nice, entertaining break from reality!!!! I love Amy Adams so I will totally be seeing this movie, although I might have to wait until it hits blockbuster!!!!
